This is the official flagged off ceremony of NG-Cares 3.2 Grant assistance program provided by the sokoto state government in collaboration with the federal government and world Bank to about nine thousand Nano Small and medium enterprises in sokoto state.

the flagg off ceremony which presided over by the sokoto state Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto FCNA PHD, was accompanied by his deputy Eng. Idrees Muhammad Gobir, Sa’in Kilgori Dr. Jabbi Kilgori who represented His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and some top government officials.

The flagg off ceremony which also took place at the Auditorium Hall of Sultan Muhammadu Maccido institute for Qur’an and general studies sokoto had in attendance representative of the Bank of industry alongside officials from sokoto state Small and medium enterprises development agency, Business enterprises, and politician among others.

According to the state Governor Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, part of the idea behind providing such assistance to Business enterprises in the state is that, to step up effort towards revitalizing business activities considering the fact that some business enterprises was financially affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Governor also added that, about one point five billion naira was air marked by the state government in collaboration with the federal government and world Bank through NG-Cares 3.2 program with a view to support not less than eight thousand five hundred and ninety Nano, Small and medium enterprises in the state as a first step effort towards improving the economy of the state.

While congratulating the beneficiaries, the Governor therefore use the medium to advise them on the need for them to properly utilizing the assistance for the purpose it was main for.

The governor later announced that, another two point five billion naira was approved for the expansion of the program targeting another fourteen thousand Nano, Small and medium enterprises in the state.

Secretary sokoto state micro, small and medium enterprises Haj. Binta Usman applauded sokoto state government under the able leadership of His Excellency the executive Governor of sokoto state Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto FCNA PHD for his determination towards introducing policies and program’s aimed at providing succour to his people.

The secretary therefore assured to redouble effort towards supporting the state government effort’s in the actualisation of the sate objectives.
